Description
The focus of free flap surgery training so far has been micro-surgical skills. At Surgical-Art, we believe that pedicle dissection and tissue handling, be it for free flap or a perforator flap, is an equally fundamental skill. In this course we give equal importance to both these skills, hence providing a more comprehensive exposure for participants.
The Pedicle Dissection component and the porcine models used are exclusive to Surgical- Art. Participants will be introduced to basic and advanced tissue handling skills to identify, preserve and dissect the neuro-vascular pedicle of a flap. Microsurgery will be demonstrated using intra and extra vascular digital microscopy. The intravascular visualisation is a unique technique conceived and developed at Surgical-Art. It will provide the participants a clear understanding of the surgical goals of microsurgery from every perspective.
