Our Story
Surgical-Art evolved from a need to modernise and bespoke training for current surgical practices and a belief that this would bring positive changes to the trainee experience and outcomes. Delivery of this belief is grounded in a core set of principles.
- Continuously innovate and apply
- Form collaboration led training models
- Embrace skill specific training from non medical artistes and craftspeople
- Embed non medical inspired ideologies appropriately to enhance learning
- Build long term mentoring relationships with trainees
- Create a non-competitive, free thinking, and creative environment receptive to learning
Surgical-Art has existed conceptually since2007 and in its present form, based in Liverpool, for the last two years where it has grown organically into its present form.
Testimonials from some of the numerous delegates across the full range of training programmes we offer demonstrate the positive impact Surgical-Art is having on trainees skills and their knowledge base, as is the 99% success rate in programme objectives met for delegates. The growth in international delegates on a number of our programmes from across Europe, the Middle East and Australasia is reflection of our growing international reputation.
We pride ourselves on being an organisation that delivers more than just a course. We explore training needs, innovate and collaborate to produce models to meet those needs and apply these practically in our training programmes thereby orchestrating a refined portfolio of training programmes. Programmes that cover a broad spectrum from surgical skill to communication, strategy and artistic understanding for clinical practice.
To deliver this we have a substantial Consultant and Senior Registrar Faculty from multiple surgical disciplines and specialties, complemented by a number of non-medical experts carefully selected from art, academia and communication backgrounds. All of whom are supported and coordinated by an experienced management team.
